River-North-Chicago- Living

When it comes to prime urban living, River North is one of the hottest neighborhoods in Chicago. Living in River North means you’ve got easy access to the best restaurants, nightlife, and shopping in the city. Named for its location just north of the Chicago River, this neighborhood is a vibrant destination in its own right and the perfect home for the active resident.

With its location between I-90 and the Magnificent Mile, River North experiences a lot of traffic. While there is plentiful parking with several garages and lots, residents have the benefit of two train lines. Both the Brown and the Red Lines run through this neighborhood, making it easy to go north or south. Cabs and ride-sharing services are also readily available day or night.

Food & Drink

River North’s dining and nightlife scene makes it a popular destination for foodies. With legendary steakhouses like Gene & Georgetti and Chicago Chop House, neighborhood standby Kinzie Chophouse, and the French-leaning Bavette’s, meat lovers are in their element. River North is home to Rick Bayless’ wildly popular Frontera Grill, and Giuseppi Tentori’s GT Fish and Oyster showcases the Charlie Trotter-trained chef’s expertise. There are also more casual favorites, like the now-ubiquitous Portillo’s and the Rock ‘n Roll McDonald’s.

River North’s nightlife scene includes everything from casual beer-focused pubs like Celtic Crossing, Clark Street Ale House, and the historic Green Door Tavern, to hot nightclubs like The Underground and Studio Paris. Craft Cocktails shine at The Broken Shaker and Berkshire Room.
