Chicago has lots of great restaurants and bars, but going out can be expensive, especially in the South Loop. Fortunately there are several happy hours and food and drink specials. That means you can still go out and have a great time without breaking your budget. Here are some of our favorite South Loop happy hour specials.
Kroll’s South Loop has happy hour Monday through Friday with $5 Jameson and $4 Absolut cocktails from 4pm to 6pm. They also have a different special each weekday, including half-priced pizzas and $3 drafts on Mondays and $5 glasses of wine and half price bottles of wine on Wednesdays. Tuesdays are neighborhood nights; prove you live in the South Loop and you’ll get 20% off your tab.
Flaco’s Tacos has specials all week long. You can begin the week with $3 margaritas and end it with $3 Dos XX. Tuesdays are for tacos, and their special taco is just a buck.
If you’ve been wanting to visit Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant Mercat a la Planxa, go between 4pm and 6pm on weekdays and you’ll get half-price sangria and cocktails. While you’re there, try the pulpo con patatas or the datiles con almendras.
The nautically-themed Weather Mark Tavern has Friday night all-you-can-eat fish and chips for just $10.95, and you can wash it down with $3 craft Lite or Bud Light. Tuesdays you can dine Italian style with $9.95 build-your-own-pizzas and half-price bottles of wine.
Get through Hump Day at Flo & Santo’s with half-price pitchers of sangria. Then once you’ve made it through the week you can celebrate with $15 buckets of Polish and domestic beers. If you want to take home some hometown craft beers, visit Vice District Brewing on Sundays and your howler and growler fills are 20% off.
